The show has been going massively downhill since Season 8's "Family Goy" and has not recovered since due to heavy Flanderization, terrible and hurtful morals, tons of mean-spirited moments, and overuse of cutaway gags, pop culture references and gross-out humor.They also did absolutely nothing to redeem his Flanderization and just kept him just as, maybe even more unlikeable, yet the writers make it clear that, in a way, they can kill him once and if the audience gets mad, they have the power to do it again. What's also worst is that the writers also clearly lack any respect for the fans or the audience in general, like how they decided to kill off Brian just because he was hated so much and then bring him back two episodes later.It's even worse when knowing that the writing staff behind this show is huge, with 14 writers and a multi-million dollar budget (more specifically, $2 million), both of which are impressive for a TV series, and yet they come up with this stuff. In one of the most tragic negative-180's in television, the writing is downgraded from being clever and funny to completely atrocious and catastrophic, almost to the point of irredeemability. These seasons lack the charm and cleverness of the first five seasons, and to lesser extents, the sixth and seventh seasons.Since season 8, the show used to be a smash hit but has been criticized by critics and audiences for many reasons, and these seasons have gone down as one of the worst examples of seasonal rot and flanderization. The show is set in the fictional city of Quahog, Rhode Island.
